Gyroscopic house
2016
Luz Marina and Gladys live
in Enmanuel, a neighborhood
in precarious conditions from Barquisimeto, Venezuela. The land
on which their small house is located,
is 1.80 meters over the level
of the street, which added
to the precarious context and
Luz Marina's senior motor skills,
make it difficult for her to access
her home.
The Gyroscopic House seeks
to generate solutions to Luz Marina's difficulties, among other things.
A house developed under social
housing parameters, in which
the spaces are extremely reduced.
The design team focuses their exploration in the spatial
comfort that can match these parameters. The enclosure
and partition walls typologies
are the result of a spatial analysis
that seeks to play in favor
of the small dimensions.
